Responsibilities
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a candidate for an IM Professional Services Manager. Under the overall leadership of the Information Management Performance Management Division Director, You will execute the Information Technology (IT) Project Management strategies. The Project Management strategy is considered a key component of IM’s service delivery that utilizes employees and subcontractors for IT project management at multiple levels across the lab. You will be responsible for the following: • Provide leadership and management to a team of project and service managers with high-value, highly visible IT projects. • Implement IT project management standards. • Work with other organization project managers to execute work using established methods and techniques and continue to develop and improve a set of project management standards and best practices. • Lead and participate with multidisciplinary teams on INL and IM projects in support of laboratory functions and business processes. • Provide subject matter leadership to and coordination of staff for implementation of standards and practices, including creating work plans, project documentation (specifically, requirements, testing, and all artifacts). • Review and approve requirements, designs, testing, and documentation. • Manage project assignments and workload for PMs. • Work with PMs and individual project teams to develop skills and competencies in the areas of design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span functional organizations. • Develop PMs to execute project and develop competencies in project management, including defining project scope, prioritizing work; tracking and communicating schedule, budget and milestone accomplishment; and managing stakeholder expectations. • Foster tight integration across IM departments to gain the necessary resources to successfully execute project plans. The Professional Services Manager will function as a facilitator by managing obstacles and barriers that could affect project outcomes. • Provide leadership and management of staff and employees of IM Professional Services, including career development opportunities and succession planning. • The Professional Services Manager is the subject matter expert for IM project and service operations and will represent IM to peers, executive management, and employees internally, as well as DOE, other labs, the state, public, suppliers and collaborators externally. |

Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years relevant IT project management experience or an advanced degree plus 9 years of relevant IT project management experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Demonstrated ability to lead professionally diverse teams to achieve project success. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects at varying levels of project scope and budget. Demonstrated to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. |
