Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Environmental Manager to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.
You will manage a team of environmental professionals and oversee waste and chemical management subcontractors to ensure that requirements are adequately implemented and systems are in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manage activities of environmental compliance professionals. Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
Responsible for developing and administering budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the environmental team.
Receive assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes.
Interact with state and federal officials during regulatory inspections.
Identify and implement new or changing regulations into research or operations processes.
Develop and manage routine operational plans.
Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of ESH&Q, MFC, and INL.
Interact with functional peer groups. Interaction requires interpreting and explaining information to audiences unfamiliar with the subject.
Gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or programs.
Matrixed organization that reports to the manager of Project & Program Support (home org) and MFC Safety and Compliance Director (work org).
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience or advanced degree and 8 years of related experience. Degree in environmental, engineering, or applicable science-related field.
This position required the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy “L” clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Requires functional understanding of RCRA, CAA, EPCRA, SWA, SDWA, CERCLA, TSCA, and P2/Waste Minimization requirements and how to apply these requirements in the field.
Must have demonstrated the ability to work as a project-oriented environmental compliance representative with minimal oversight or management supervision.
Able to work unusually complex problems to completion.
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information:
The target pay range for this position is $113,578 - $172,538 annually. The full pay range is $91,812 - $220,332. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
