Advanced Test Reactor (Gxxx)

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a ATR Planning Manager to work within our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Maintenance division. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our ATR facility with every Friday off. You will oversee maintenance planning as well as maintenance material procurement and staging. You will reply directly to the director of the ATR Maintenance division. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules for ATR Nuclear/Non-Nuclear facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal operational efficiency.
  • Integrate ESH&Q, Radiological Control, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance policies into the planning process. Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. 
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with DOE regulations and safety standards, including DOE O 433.1 and DOE O 430.1B. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of safety and reliability in a nuclear environment.
  • Be responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to the organization. Make decisions that impact others in the immediate team and influence methods and techniques. 
  • Ensure adherence to Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) principles, including the five core functions: define the scope of work, analyze hazards, develop and implement hazard controls, perform work within controls, and provide feedback for continuous improvement, with a focus on nuclear safety.
  • Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning and management. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained. 
  • Receive objective-based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Be responsible for single function, location, and/or technical discipline.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect department or multiple disciplines. Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the department and possibly the division.
  • Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units. 
  • Partner with key contacts outside area of expertise and other external stakeholders. 
  • Communicate and present results and recommendations across discipline.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 9 years relevant experience or an advanced degree and 6 years relevant experience, or at least 15 years of directly relevant nuclear maintenance management experience.
  • Must possess nuclear maintenance or relevant nuclear operations and engineering experience.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Must have experience managing and overseeing a maintenance or equivalent organization.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a RadWorker qualification.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. 

Job Information: 

  • The target pay range for this position is ($138,143 - 209,345) annually. The full pay range is ($105,516 - $269,052). At Idaho National Laboratory, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials. 
  • TDP-Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment. 

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
