Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Carpenter to work in our Materials and Fuels Complex Construction and Support department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) with every Friday off.
You will support the fabrication and installation of new and replacement wood structures such as boxes, frames, supports, platforms, scaffolding, and cabinets at MFC. You will report directly to the manager of the MFC Construction and Support department.
Responsibilities Include:
- Construct, design, and modify structures and components.
- Erect elevated work platforms and scaffolding.
- Repair existing facilities and components.
- Perform preventive maintenance as directed by policy and procedure.
- Perform all types of carpentry construction and repair work.
- Perform the layout, fabrication and installation of metal and wood concrete forms.
- Perform concrete finishing. Perform core drilling.
- Repair door latches, locks, and closures.
- Perform all types of floors and ceiling tile installation and repair. Perform minor carpet repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
- Participate and maintain all training and qualifications.
- Direct the conduct of work in accordance with procedures and direction from the Fabrication Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay for this position is $36.40/hr. Pay increases to $42.03/hr after becoming fully qualified and having worked over 6 months. (Rates can vary based on individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
