Required
• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plasma Physics, or related discipline (to be completed within the pastt five years and prior to commencement of appointment).
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• Experience with sintering and sintering theory
• Experience with analytical techniques such as optical microscopy, electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray techniques (X-ray CT) or other techniques used to determine material and microstructural properties.
Desired
• Experience with materials processing and diffusion welding
• Familiarity with material characteristics and properties (metals) including elevated-temperature properties
• Familiarity with mechanical testing
