Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Drafter to work in our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) Drafting department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.
INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.
Responsibilities Include:
You will plan, lay out, prepare, and revise engineering drawings manually or by using computer-aided design equipment in one or more areas of specialization, e.g., architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, or electrical drafting working from notes, sketches, or general instruction.
- Prepare complex new drawings and perform drawing changes consistent with company and nationally recognized procedures and standards. This will include 2D line work and 3D modeling.
- Help determine drawing elements i.e., dimensions, part/component selection, tolerance, and design and process parameters. Evaluate design input from project engineers working with design engineers.
- Make required mathematical calculations (i.e., geometric, tolerance stack up calculations). • Work with design engineers to specify parts, assemblies, and installation.
- May contribute design modification ideas to improve the quality of the product or facilitate construction/fabrication.
- Provide field/as-building documentation support.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Creo, AutoCAD, Revit, and other modeling software.
- Occasionally collaborate with professionals outside of home organization.
- Report progress appropriately to project and line management.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School or equivalent and 6 years related experience.
- High school or equivalent and >6 years related experience.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($ 34.47/hour- $56.87/hour) / Level 4 ($39.58/hour - $67.28/hour). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials. (

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
