In this paid internship you will work with MELCOR-TMAP to model normal and accident conditions for historical fusion device designs and collaborate to publish the results of their analyses. You will incorporate stochastic modeling tools, such as RAVEN, to better quantify uncertainties associated with the modeling effort. Reporting to the Fuel Development, Performance and Qualification group. This team works a 9x80 schedule, and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree Program/Masters Degree Program/Doctorate Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering, or related

  • Existing access to MELCOR-TMAP
  • A minimum overall 3.0 GPA

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Undergraduate Internships ($26.16/hour - $31.47/hour)

  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($32.87/hour - $35.26/hour)

  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($35.95/hour - $38.41/hour)

  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.

  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
