Human Reliability Analysis Summer 2025 Internship

In this paid internship you will support human error and human factors research related to control room operator performance. Reporting to the Human Factors and Reliability group. The ideal candidate will have experience or coursework in human-in-the-loop studies, and human performance evaluations and analysis. This team works a 9x80 schedule, and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Senior/ Master Degree Program/ Doctorate Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering, Human Factors, Probabilistic Safety Assessment, Human-Computer Interaction, or related

  • A minimum overall 3.0 GPA

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)

  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)

  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)

  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.

  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
