Physical Security Systems Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 1: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technical Discipline in security system design and analysis, electrical/electronics.
- Level 2: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technical Discipline in security system design and analysis, electrical/electronics and 2 years of experience, or an advanced degree in the same fields of study.
- Experience in electronics field.
- Knowledgeable in electronics theory.
- Knowledgeable in serial and TCP/IP communications.
- Background in security system design and analysis, electrical/electronics, fiber optics, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation and controls.
- Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, strategic and tactical planning, and overall leadership and execution of large, complex, and technically challenging programs requiring multidisciplinary integration across multiple organizations.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy “Q” level security clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($56,196 - 109,644) / Level 2: ($65,064 - $133,416). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
- HRP: Human Reliability Program: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and continued drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
- Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
