Responsibilities
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector Technician to provide inspection support to ensure compliance with DOE, Laboratory, and customer specific requirements applicable to Quality Inspection. Perform Basic Inspection, and qualification specific (precision dimensional) inspections and certification specific (Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Visual, Mass Spec or other leak test) inspections for nuclear and non-nuclear facility structures, systems, and components during fabrication processes. Provide assistance to Quality Engineering staff during design and procedure reviews and the generation of inspection planning. As assigned, perform as the quality program technical authority representative in Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) facilities and or supplier’s facilities. As assigned, conduct oversight and surveillance of BEA processes and subcontracted services to verify compliance with laboratory quality assurance program procedures. Provide technical assistance to Quality Engineering staff on application of inspection disciplines, techniques, and innovative concepts. As requested this position will perform Quality Inspections in support of all BEA organizations on the Idaho National Laboratory; including other facilities and programs requiring specific inspector qualifications.          

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/or Experience):
Must have at least a High School Diploma or Equivalent plus at least 2-6 years related experience.
Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control Nondestructive Examination and related inspection activities.
Previous or current Level II certifications in one or more of the following NDT disciplines: MT, PT, UT, LT, and VT Inspector in accordance with an ASNT-SNT-TC-1A or equivalent certification program.
Special Requirements and/or Training:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L security clearance.
Must be able to qualify as a Radiation Worker II.
Must be able to pass medical visual exam for inspector certification.
Individual must display well developed skills in various Nondestructive Examination (NDE) techniques. Must be capable of using NDE techniques to solve complex inspection problems. Must display a working knowledge of inspection, piping and welding codes and standards including ASME section III, B31.1. and B31.3.
Individual will be required to work with limited supervision. Must be able to communicate with various customers and/or crafts.

License(s) or Certification(s) Required:
Must be able to obtain various BEA Inspector certifications in accordance with BEA ASNT-TC-1A certification program, MCP-13425 as directed by supervision.
