Minimum Requirements: 

  • Level 4: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Information Systems, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree and at least 9 years of directly related experience or a master’s and 6 years of relevant experience or Doctorate and 4 years of experience.
  • Level 5: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Information Systems, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree and at least 14 or more years of directly related experience or master’s and 8 years of relevant experience or Doctorate and 6 years of experience.
  • Education in lieu of degree may be considered if there is extensive military background, uniquely applicable experience or highly specialized knowledge. Level 4 requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 15 years’ direct/relevant experience. Level 5 requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 20 years’ direct/relevant experience.
  • This position requires an active/current Department of Energy (DOE) "Q" and "SCI" clearance or equivalent, which requires US Citizenship.
    • Must be willing to work on-site at Ft. Belvoir, VA

    Job Information: 

    • The pay range for this position is: Level 4 ($77,628 - $159,228) / Level 5 ($93,204 - $191,076). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
    • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
    • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills. 

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
