Software Developer
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Software Developer to work in our Business Systems department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule Remote with every other Friday off. You will report to the IT Architect.
Develop innovative engineered solutions using current and latest computing technologies. Apply experience in software and hardware engineering principles, theories, concepts, and technologies with complex engineered systems.
Responsibilities Include:

Apply software engineering principles, theories, and concepts to build scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems processes and information display and visualization.

Plan, develop and implement software-engineering solutions to complex problems and major projects.

Support project plans and requirements, establish scope, cost and schedule estimates for design and development activities.

Participate in technical reviews for projects at various phases of development and provide recommendations for computer technology solutions to customers and management’s needs.

Maintain and upgrade a variety of systems and develop new software capabilities.

Create and review new methodologies and architectures that improve the organizations’ mission.

Ensure Compliance with INL’s safety, security, environmental, health and quality assurance requirements.

Document activities, reports, existing technologies.

Review and analyze source code and system design documentation, reports from users, and other technical artifacts to create reports and present to other staff and management assessments of code quality, the probable origin and possible effects of defects and anomalies, and recommendations for improvements and enhancements.

Participate in professional development to maintain technical proficiency in current and latest technologies.

Use expertise to define strategic direction in assigned areas.

Mentor junior engineers.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer information systems, information technology or related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master’s and 6 years of relevant experience; or PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience using Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Visual Studio or VS Code.
-
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL.

Experience with continuous integration, and deployment using Azure DevOps
-
Experience with Agile, Kanban development methodologies.
-
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Experience mentoring others and leading technical tasks.

Experience using Jira or similar tool.
-
Experience with other development languages (Python, Go/Golang, or C/C++).

Experience with Dapper, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
Job Information:

The pay range for this position is $111,888 - $229,284. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
