Communication Liaison - National and Homeland Security
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with an emphasis in communications; or a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a field related to technical communications; and a minimum of 5 years related experience or advanced degree and 3 years of experience.
- Strong preference for previous experience with science or engineering public communication.
- Should have experience in public involvement in technical or scientific issues, as well as writing and producing materials for the general public. Requires ability to understand technical principles and communicate technical topics in simple terms.
- Should be able to negotiate with researchers to achieve mutually agreeable communications materials.
- Must demonstrate excellent writing skills, familiarity with AP Style, and excellent oral, digital, audio-visual, social media and visual communications skills.
- Must be able to manage several projects at once, work independently under general direction, and demonstrate good judgement on diverse problems.
- Must understand news judgment and be able to prioritize work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must have good relationship management and organizational skills to effectively manage works with colleagues.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
