Responsibilities
 

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Construction Field Representative (CFR).

In this role, you will perform as a Construction Field Representative on large construction projects of high complexity and/or multiple small projects. You will be responsible to monitor subcontract and/or direct hire projects.

As a CFR you will be responsible for the successful execution of subcontracted fieldwork. This includes:

-  Coordinating work activities within the facility and with other organizations,

-  Overseeing field performance; as well as technical execution aspects.

-  Documenting performance on daily reports,

-  Leading subcontract progress meetings,

-  Performing safety walk-downs,

-  Managing subcontract changes,

-  Monitoring schedule performance,

-  Keeping other project team members informed on progress and issues, quality inspections, and

-  Ensuring compliance with the subcontract documents.

You will be the internal advocate to ensure subcontract issues and related actions are timely and correctly resolved. The CFR ensures consistent implementation of Integrated Safety Management Systems and Quality requirements.

Additional duties in this role will include, but are not limited to:

-  Providing technical direction/supervision to direct hire construction staff in support of ongoing construction operations.

-  Interfacing with Operations, Project Management, and other support personnel to resolve issues including cost and scheduling that affect project completion,

-  Ensuring consistent implementation of principals of Integrated Safety Management and assuring that the workforce is properly trained and qualified in accordance with subcontract requirements.

-  Performing work with minimal direction including the determination of assignment objectives.

 
 

Bachelors degree +3-5 years' experience or 10-13 years relevant experience in lieu of degree; or ASSOC +6-9 years' experience; or certificate +8-11 years' experience that has provided the knowledge and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of the position role.

You must have experience with construction techniques, industry standards, field construction practices, and a basic understanding of subcontract practices, safety practices (i.e., OSHA 1926 Construction)/

Experience providing oversight of subcontractors or direct hire employees for construction projects is required.

Experience tracking and scheduling construction projects is required.

Experience with the generation of documentation associated with construction projects is required.

Basic knowledge of union craft labor relations is required.

You must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment associated with construction projects.

Management prefers candidates that are qualified as a TPOC/SFR/CFR (Supply Chain Management and Construction)

You must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" clearance.

Special Senses: Eyes: Visually demanding work, near vision, far vision, depth perception, basic color discrimination; Ears: Speech discrimination, audio alarms; Nose: Ability to smell.

Work Conditions: Facility: High noises (>85 dB), heights, confined spaces, stairs; Environmental Conditions: Heat stress, cold stress, UV (sun) exposure; Equipment: ladders, protective clothing, respirator use, motor vehicle use, typing/keyboard; Personnel Requirements: >8 hrs./day, overtime/irregular hours, working alone.
 
Certifications:  Respirator user, Testing Designated Position (TDP)
