Responsibilities
Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an e-Learning Instructional Technologist.
In this role your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training and just-in-time instructional materials using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
- Conducting training needs analysis by reviewing existing information and procedures, interviewing employees, and recommending interventions, while working with subject-matter experts and organizational managers.
- Developing course design plans that include objectives, schedule, and cost, working with subject-matter experts, requirements documents and materials, and a design team.
- Employing professional judgment, technical background, and instructional expertise to create learning products that blend state-of-the art workplace training approaches.
- Conducting course pilots and troubleshoot and resolve pilot comments.
- Completing case files including all required documentation.
- Performing quality reviews for training products to provide product quality, consistency, and conformance to the SAT process.
- Providing input for quality and productivity improvements to courses, instructional work, training programs, training processes, and the training team.
- Providing performance consulting and technical support to customers. Resolve and respond to comments from customers on assigned work.
- Conducting or participating in training assessments, lead or facilitate group sessions (e.g., seminars, workshops, table-top analyses).
- Maintaining professional and instructor-related qualifications. |

Baccalaureate Degree plus 2-5 years experience or Advanced Degree plus 1-3 years experience. Must have excellent written/oral communication skills. Must be able to work in a team environment and exhibit excellent teamwork. Must have experience applying adult learning theory and concepts. Must have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiar with training processes. Must have experience using the Systematic Approach to Training model including needs analysis, job analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation methodology. Highly desired proficiency using Lectora (or similar) e-learning authoring software; proficient using Adobe Photoshop (or similar) photo and graphic development software.
