Responsibilities
 
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a nationally recognized Senior Control Systems Cybersecurity Engineer in critical infrastructure resilience and system design.  Provide expert advice, professional expertise, strategic insight, and other consulting services that advance strategic and long-term objectives to generate and sustain unique critical infrastructure protection capabilities that support both internal and external decision makers at all levels.
 
Using INL’s broad suite of capabilities and diverse team of experts, guide innovative cortical infrastructure solutions from requirements through R&D, concept design, and testing that drive mission success. Align methodologies, tools, and programs to federal guidance such as Presidential Policy Directive 21 and the Cyber Executive Order. Act as an SME for critical infrastructure protection and resilience along with system design and implementation. Develop recommendations that, in a holistic risk framework, expand INL's offerings to meet National Security needs, broadens the customer portfolio and positions the lab for cyber security related critical infrastructure leadership both domestically and abroad. Provide SME expertise to contribute to hunt, incident response, and assessment activities within critical infrastructure sector(s) systems.
 
This position will also be responsible for performing preliminary diagnosis to determine the extent of a compromise by advanced threat actors. The successful candidate should understand APT-level tools, tactics, and procedures, and determines mitigation techniques to counter those TTPs. The successful candidate will work other team members, deliver professional advice in cyber security designs, implementation, vulnerability identification, and custom mitigation to both the customer and the larger community impacted by these threats.  This position will be responsible for providing advice in cybersecurity designs, implementation, vulnerability identification, mitigation techniques and procedures that will aid industry and the Nation in securing critical infrastructure systems against current and emerging threats. 
 

Baccalaureate and 12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience.  Experience shall include designing or applying homeland security solutions in regional resilience or risk analyses.
 
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance and special access as required.  When required, must be able to work in a secure work environment to include handling/storing/processing classified and CUI information, and adhere to physical and electronic projection standards.
 
Demonstrated knowledge of critical infrastructure protection and resilience, with emphasis on system design; mission and needs assessments; requirements identification and management; and alternatives analyses. Experience in leading and working in an integrated product team. Must be able to interface effectively with Program Managers, Middle and Upper Management as well as DOE or DHS customer.
