Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Electronics Project Manager to work on our SMC Engineering & Product Design team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Specific Manufacturing Capabilities (SMC) desert-site facility with every Friday off.

You will provide technical leadership to our product lines, skilled in electronic component manufacturing processes from production of printed wiring assemblies through electronic module assembly.  Oversees and coordinates projects related to electronic systems and products. Responsible for the design, development, testing, and verification of electrical components and systems.    Analyze engineering plans and projects to establish operating data and acceptance criteria.  Identify opportunities for integration of technologies and techniques to advance technical capabilities to develop new, unique cutting-edge solutions. Interface with other organizations to communicate design specifications and address design and integration issues. Work may encompass a wide range of sophisticated (cross-discipline) engineering problem resolutions. Responsibilities consists of; project planning and execution, team coordination, budget and risk management, stakeholder communication, quality assurance, and documentation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, document, execute, manage, and report on projects.
  • Integrate and communicate with customers, stakeholders, and managers of related projects.
  • Determine appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Utilize project management techniques to assure technical, schedule, and budget baselines are controlled throughout each phase of a project.
  • Participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews.
  • Manage all projects in accordance with all BEA procedures and policies. Monitor project activities and resources to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with procurement, and interface with the customer, regarding General and Special Conditions; participate in subcontract amendment negotiations and obtain necessary corporate and customer approvals
  •  Make improvements, solve problems, or take corrective action when problems arise.
  • Identify project documentation requirements or procedures.
  • Manage projects to ensure that they are completed on schedule, within budget, and that all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Review inter-organizational agreements and subcontract packages for completeness and conformity to project requirements.
  • Perform project closeout activities including final cost report and project records closeout.
  • Develop teams as appropriate to successfully complete projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related field, and at least 5 years of direct/relevant experience.
  • Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related field, and at least 9 years of direct/relevant experience.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Direct experience in project management, specifically within electronics manufacturing or related industries.
  • Direct experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($93,204 - $191,076)/Level 4 ($111,888 - $229,284). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.

     

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
