An Advanced Degree in related field plus a minimum of two years as a SPO II/SPO III supervisor; or a Baccalaureate Degree in related field plus a minimum of two years as a SPO II/SPO III supervisor; or An Associates’ Degree in related field plus four years’ experience in Protective Force and/or Military/Law enforcement with a minimum of two years as a SPO II/SPO III supervisor; or Enrolled in a degree program plus six years’ experience in Protective Force and/or Military/Law enforcement with a minimum of two years as a SPO II/SPO III supervisor; or a High School diploma or equivalent plus 8 years’ experience in Protective Force and/or Military/Law enforcement with a minimum of two years as a SPO II/SPO III supervisor.

 

Must be able to meet physical fitness requirements for the SRT positions.

Must be familiar with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must never have been convicted of a domestic violence charge.

Must never have been convicted of a felony.

Must never have been denied a security clearance.

Must never have had a security clearance revoked.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of tactics, techniques, and procedures as applies to the

Protective Force.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Working knowledge of DOE Safeguards & Security Orders.

- Working knowledge of the Conduct of Operations (Protective Force Operations).

Must be able to obtain and maintain:

- DOE "Q" clearance

- HRP Certification

- Meet 10 CFR 1046 physical fitness standards

- Meet 10 CFR 1046 SPO III Standards

- NTC TRF 200 certification

- NTC Basic Instructor Training Certification

- NTC Basic firearms instructor Certification

- NTC Advanced firearms instructor Certification

 

Related experience also includes, but is not limited to:

Knowledge of security systems, knowledge of federal regulations, experience demonstrating management and/or leadership skills, must be able to maintain all SPO II/SPO III physical standards as required by DOE order in accordance with local field office requirements.

Work Conditions: Facility: High noises (>85 dB), stairs; Environmental Conditions:  Cold stress, heat stress; Equipment: ladders >6 feet, protective clothing, respirator use, motor vehicle use; Personnel Requirements: Rotating shift work, >8 hrs./day, overtime/irregular hours, working alone.

 

Certifications:  SPO II/III - 1 mile run required, Human Reliability Program (HRP); Testing Designated Position (TDP).
